Lawrence Poole is the co-founder and president of Gestion Consult-IIDC Management Inc., a Montreal-based consulting firm. In a distinguished career, he has taught thousands of leaders the principles of motivated creativity, strategy, and self-empowerment through his conferences and training sessions. A dynamic and inspiring speaker, Lawrence earned a solid reputation with individuals, corporations, associations, and institutions across Canada, Latin America, and Europe.
Lawrence specializes in unlocking human potential. A pioneer in heuristic learning (self- discovery), Lawrence developed and led hundreds of training activities and educational adventures so executives, managers, and their teams can learn how to make strategic, just, and innovative decisions. His whole-brain approach is designed to accelerate the learning curve, encouraging rapid and effective skill development.
Despite being paralyzed in a tragic car accident, Lawrence Poole is an avid explorer who is known as the only researcher to trek jungles in a wheelchair. Over the past decades, he has explored ecosystems worldwide, translating his understanding of their processes into best practices and success strategies. Lawrence shares his experiences with passion and simplicity. His multimedia conferences and workshops include videos, pictures, sounds, and even odors from the rainforest, allowing participants to experience the mystical beauty of the neo-tropical jungle.
A seasoned traveler, accounts of his adventures are told in The Real Guide collection at Prentice-Hall, or featured on radio and television. With his life-partner Suzy Ethier, Lawrence created a series of unique learning adventures using the National Parks of Costa Rica as classrooms. These allow participants to discover, optimize, and profit from their creative capital.
Lawrence wrote SELF-Empowerment and Invest in Your Creative Capital and co- authored, with Suzy, Investissez dans votre capital créatif (IQ Ed.) and Les leçons de la jungle au travail et en société (Logiques Ed.). He animates a podcast called The Jungle Times to explain Nature’s self-management strategies and how they can be applied to enhance personal power and hone leadership skills.
CONTEXT OF THE CONFERENCES, TRAINING EVENTS AND TEAM BUILDING ACTIVITIES
In today’s climate of increasing complexity and ambiguity, characterized by continuous change and heightened performance demands, strategic thinking has become an essential survival tool for personal, professional, and organizational success. Managers at all levels are under pressure to be more adaptable, managing change, enhancing relationships, and innovating products and processes. To excel, they must add value to their roles by embracing creativity.
Lawrence draws on Nature to illustrate his training, showing how species that survive and prosper thrive in unstable environments and exhibit creative thinking and leadership. To do so, rather than resisting change, they seek adaptive strategies such as synergy, alliances, and mutualism.
In his dynamic and engaging presentations, Lawrence explains that adapting to changing conditions individual need not only to acquire the skills of seasoned leaders but must also know how to think beyond their limits. By sharing his personal journey, including his exploration of tropical jungles while in a wheelchair, Lawrence demonstrates the value of adopting winning strategies observed in the natural world and integrating them into personal, professional, and organizational contexts.

Testimonials
« I take this opportunity to express, on behalf of myself and every member of our senior management team, our sincere appreciation and congratulations for your presentation at Arborite Canada's National Sales Meeting, in Niagara-on-the-Lake, Ontario. Your thought-provoking principles are forcing individuals to take a long and hard look at themselves and to evaluate their ability to make sound management decisions. ‘Thinking outside the box’ and creativity are 2 skills that managers need to cultivate. I thank you for your support. »
« Thanks for your effort and inspiration to make our event a success. I don't think I have ever seen an audience so attentive and ‘mesmerized’ by a speaker. I appreciated how you listened to me when I first called. Your offer to tailor your talk is just what we needed. When you finished your keynote speech, I was overwhelmed with your message and the motivation I felt in the room. I could see and feel everyone deep in thought about the possibilities you opened up for them. We’ve only had rave reviews and I have had several people from the conference follow-up with me to say that your talk was the highlight of our event and it meant so much to them. »
« Our event took place several weeks ago and I'm happy to tell you we are still getting the most glowing comments about your “ Lessons from the jungle...” presentation. gave us a beautiful new way to reflect on change - and it was a positive message about the changes that life imposes on us and how they can be sources of opportunity. The success of our event - which was an important meeting of our sales team - would not have been possible without your contribution. Please know that we are very pleased to have relied on you. The presence of passionate people like you among us was inspiring! »
