An engineering and law graduate, journalist, musician and photographer, Jonathan B. Roy is difficult to fit into one box. And so much the better, since we are all more than our job, our education, our family or a single personality trait. While cycling around the world for four years, the best-selling author met hundreds of people in over 60 countries. "We are all interesting and have enormous potential when we overcome our own barriers," he says. His singular and winding journey demonstrates that our path is not predetermined.
"For a long time, I considered myself pretty bad in sports since I was classified as "good at school". However, in my thirties, I managed, one day at a time, to cross 3 continents on a bicycle – 40,000 km in 40 countries – by the sole force of my legs (and a few thousand Snickers bars). Who we are and how we see ourselves can change over the years and our life decisions."
